Another fun Juniper Lee comic story

well, i did some more Juniper Lee comics freelance.
here's the latest story . . . penciled by me and inked by the fabulous Millet Henson. :)
Juniper gets a cold and has to help her brother take down an odd old 50's sci-fi type monster.
i had some fun with this one.
:)

enjoy and all the best!

This is great! I'm so glad I found this blog, your work is truly awesome.

When and where will this story be published??

Always love your stuff! I used to keep a herobear book at my desk at work all the time, but lots of animators wanted to borrow it, so after I while I just took it back home.

hi mike, happy new year

i like it

it tells the story like it should

i was just thinking why alot of mainstream comics (dc,image, marvel, dark horse, idw)and some independents
just can't seem to tell the story visualy first then put the words to enhance the pictures

it seems to me that they do it backwards

words first then visuals

it happens too often

the comic companies wonder why new reader give up so easily

the new reader thinks its too much work to figure out the comic language and goes back to reading novels or not read at all

do you have any thoughts on this?

thanx

Wow!! You have a blog!! Thats great!! I'm a huge fan!
Any new publications?
MOre Flip Books?
Is Hero Bear the movie still going to be made?
Do you check out peoples' blogs??

My kids LOVE the Hero Bear book.
The warmth and child-like awe that was in that story was magnificant. You are a great story teller.

So, this means "we" are that much closer to the coffee table "Art of Juniper Lee" book... right??

Mike...??

Almost there, right??

All that concept art of yours just screaming for publication... this is just the teaser for the fans... right???

these are fantabulous mike....the line work is great what gets me is that one can really tell your animator from the poses and actions w/in the frames..... great stuff

hey guys, and gals, ;)
thanks so much.
i did do these pages digitally.
all paperless as an experiment.
i penciled them on my tablet and then millet cleaned them up in illustrator and gave back to me to tweak and noodle in illustrator and then off to DC for letters and colors.
it was a fun experiment.

also, i'm glad that my comic stuff comes across in the poses . . . even without dialogue, i hope you can get the story and acting from the characters.
:)
anyway, glad you like it!
thanks so much for your great comments and for visiting my blog o' drawerin's.

all the best,
