da whitesox sokmunster

so last season, my son played little league for the first time, and though the team did so-so . . . we had a blast. he actually hit an "inside-the -park grand slam! whoo hoo! :) well, he played on the WhiteSox. and it happened to be the year that the pro Chicago Whitesox won the series. very cool :)
and the other fun of the season was that i was asked to design the banner for his team. so . . . how perfect that one of my books is none other than . . . "the land of Sokmunster" . . . :) so designing a sock for the banner was a whole lotta fun.

enjoy!
hey, maybe i should talk with the Chicago Whitesox about using him for a logo character for kids' events? hmmmmmmmmmmm . . . . .
anyway, here he is . . . the baseball sokmunster . . . :)
all the best,
m . . .

Great work as always, Mike.

Love the expression on his face and the squash on the ball.

Love the soks! It would only be logic to contact White Sox. Can't see how they could not want to use this character for something promotional!

hey gang!
well, i contacted the White Sox organization's publicity/promotions dept . . . and they just got back to me today.
They like the character, but they feel that they can't do anything with the Sokmunster Sock right now, because they currently are concentrating their efforts on promoting their existing mascot named "Southpaw."
rats!
oh well. . . maybe something in the future. :)
at least they were very cool about getting back to us and giving me an answer.

take care and all the best,
